The President’s Charity Night returns on
Saturday 26 September, raising funds and
awareness for Mind Lancashire. This year’s event
features a full live performance from **The Yard
Dogs**, a much‑loved Lancashire band with deep
local roots. The group’s story stretches back to
the 1960s, when its founding members first
played together as schoolmates. They officially
formed The Yard Dogs in 2000, gradually
expanding into a vibrant multi‑instrumental
line‑up including guitar, bass, drums, keyboards
and saxophone.
Their trademark sound blends rock, soul and
blues, creating an energetic style that has earned them a loyal following across the North West. Over the decades,
The Yard Dogs have performed at venues throughout Lancashire, the Lake District and Devon, and remain a
popular highlight at community festivals such as Longton Live near Preston. The Yard Dogs promise an
unforgettable night in support of a vital local cause.
